Function
Purpose of the Position
The System and Network Administrator / Modern Workplace aims to keep Pasfrost's IT infrastructure stable and secure while implementing and supporting modern digital work environments. This includes managing the servers, networks and systems, while ensuring optimal workplace experiences by implementing (cloud) solutions, mobile work options, securing data and devices, and supporting collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365 or similar platforms. The goal is to increase employee productivity and flexibility within a secure and high-performing IT environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The system and network administrator for the modern workplace environment has a diverse range of duties:
System Administration:
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of physical and virtual servers.
- Regular backups and a proper disaster recovery plan.
- Patch management for security updates.
- Management of user accounts and access rights.
Network management:
- Management and maintenance of network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
- Network security with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
- Monitoring and rapid troubleshooting of network performance.
Modern Workplace management:
- Implementation and management of cloud solutions (Microsoft 365, Azure AD).
- Management of mobile devices and telephony for secure remote working.
- Support and management of collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
IT Security:
- Management of antivirus, anti-malware and endpoint security.
- Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) and password policies.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and legislative requirements (such as GDPR).
Production process support:
- IT support for a stable production IT infrastructure.
- Camera, access and fire detection system management.
- Rapid troubleshooting to ensure production continuity.
- Integration of IT solutions for process optimization (e.g., IoT, automation).
Documentation and planning:
- Documentation of IT systems, configurations and policies.
Profile
For this challenge, we are looking for an experienced System and Network Administrator with the following background:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in system and network administration, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing both physical and virtual servers
- In-depth knowledge of network configurations (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs) and network security.
- Experience implementing and managing cloud solutions, such as Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with mobile workplace management (MDM) and supporting hybrid modes of work (cloud and on-premises).
- Background in IT security, such as implementing endpoint security, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and access management.
- Experience with security and compliance standards (such as GDPR and NIS2) and performing IT audits.
- Knowledge of IT support in a manufacturing environment, including integration of IT solutions into manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing and executing IT projects, from small enhancements to larger migrations and implementations.
- Experience working with external IT partners and vendors.
