Function
As Technology Owner Connectivity, you are within ASTRID the central point of contact and ultimately responsible for the entire ecosystem of connectivity solutions. You manage the full technological cycle: from the strategic roadmap and budgeting to operational excellence and decommissioning.
You are part of a specialized team of 8 to 9 colleagues, where each expert is responsible for their own specific technology. Your focus lies on ensuring a high-performing and redundant network that guarantees vital communication between dispatch sites, data centers, and emergency services.
Responsibilities
This role requires a strong coordinating approach and a significant dose of project management. You will bridge the gap between technology, business, and external partners by taking on the following tasks:
- You will be responsible for the product vision and roadmap, including financial planning and lifecycle management.
- You will ensure ITIL processes, architectural standards, and security.
- You will manage internet services, ensure redundancy, and eliminate single points of failure.
- In supplier discussions, you will represent ASTRID and challenge suppliers on performance, innovation, and SLAs.
- You will manage complex projects from start to finish, monitoring planning, budget, and quality.
- Within the team, you will act as an expert for optical networks and interprovincial backbones.
Profile
The ideal Technology Owner has a professional bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Telecommunications, or ICT/Electronics, supplemented by at least 5 years of in-depth experience in connectivity (WAN, fixed internet, fiber optics). The candidate combines a strong technical background in dark fiber and optical network equipment with a good understanding of internet services and redundant setups (experience with Belnet is a plus). As an experienced coordinator and project manager, he or she is accustomed to leading complex technological projects from A to Z within a structured ITIL environment. The sought-after professional is an analytical thinker who effortlessly translates technological trends into concrete roadmaps and budgetary needs. Moreover, he or she is a strong communicator and team player who dares to make autonomous decisions for their own technology, while simultaneously knowing how to effectively manage and challenge suppliers. The candidate is highly aware of the societal impact of the work and places "high availability" and customer focus at the center of all activities.
