Group Architect @ AGEAS
AMKP04409
Function
As the Group Architect, you are the essential bridge between the Corporate Centre’s strategic vision and the technical execution across Ageas’s international footprint. Ageas is transitioning from a decentralized model toward a more unified, "SaaS-first" ecosystem, and this role is the catalyst for that change.
By stepping into this position, you become the driving force behind technical harmony and operational excellence. You will empower the group to move as one, transforming potential fragmentation into a seamless, high-performing ecosystem where local entities thrive through shared innovation and collective synergy. Your leadership ensures that every technical decision is an investment in efficiency and scalability, turning complex challenges into a streamlined competitive advantage for the entire Ageas Group.
In this role, you will balance high-level architecture design with hands-on project support. You will lead the Architecture Office at the Corporate Centre while fostering a collaborative community among lead architects worldwide.Â
- Architectural Vision: You define and maintain the IT architecture roadmap for the next 3 to 5 years, ensuring all systems align with the group’s strategic pillars. Â
- Solution Design: You take a lead role in designing technical solutions for major transformation projects, such as the group HR platform rollout and the transition of financial systems to the cloud.Â
- Governance & Standardization: You act as the guardian of IT standards, ensuring that different countries and business units follow consistent reference architectures to prevent the uncontrolled growth of local systems. Â
- Cloud & Infrastructure Leadership: You oversee the growth of the Ageas Group Cloud on Microsoft Azure, providing the technical foundation for data and AI innovations. Â
- Stakeholder Management: You translate complex technical requirements into clear, value-driven language for non-technical executives to facilitate informed decision-making. Â
- Vendor Evaluation: You critically assess external vendors (e.g., SAP, Salesforce) to ensure their solutions fit within the Ageas ecosystem and meet security standards.Â
Profile
Background and experience
- You hold a Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related technical field. Â
- You have at least 5 years of experience in similar architecture roles, preferably within the financial services or insurance industry (BFSI).Â
- You possess knowledge of Microsoft Azure platforms and the ability to rapidly define target architectures; relevant Azure certifications are considered a strong asset.
- You have a proven track record in enterprise integration and modern architecture design best practices.Â
- Experience with insurance industry processes and systems is a significant plus.Â
- You have experience evaluating and implementing major SaaS solutions (e.g., SAP, Salesforce) to support a "SaaS-first" strategy.
Competences
- Conceptual & Pragmatic: You possess a conceptual mind but maintain a "doer" mentality, capable of deriving successful solutions from a complex range of requirements.Â
- Communication Skills: You have the ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear, value-driven language for both IT and non-IT executives. Â
- Influence & Conviction: You are a skilled communicator who can convince stakeholders and drive alignment across a decentralized organization through influence and advisory. Â
- Active Listening: You have excellent listening skills and the ability to discover the real, sometimes hidden, requirements of the business.
- Adaptability: You are comfortable working in an environment where not everything is strictly defined and can navigate "gray areas" effectively.
- Team Player: You are prepared to share knowledge to empower the team and can go deep into technical details whenever appropriate.
- Independence: You are able to work independently, manage your own roadmap, and take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.Â
Languages
As the role involves frequent collaboration with diverse international entities across Europe and Asia, an excellent command of English is essential for professional communication and technical documentation.
