CTO

1. Purpose of the position
        
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Ampacimon is responsible for defining and executing a unifying, forward-looking technology vision that aligns seamlessly with the company’s strategic business goals and accelerates its impact on the global energy transition.

As a key member of the executive team, the CTO will lead the evolution of Ampacimon’s integrated software and hardware platforms – transforming them into scalable, secure, and future-ready systems. The CTO spearheads all technology development initiatives, including architecture, infrastructure, AI innovation, and product strategy.

This position requires both deep technological ownership and strong strategic influence. The CTO will drive innovation across AI, IIoT, and SaaS; foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning; and scale a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.

In a context of rapid international expansion, complex grid integration challenges, and a growing demand for secure, intelligent, and mission-critical solutions, the CTO plays a vital role in turning technical excellence into strategic advantage—cementing Ampacimon’s leadership in dynamic grid optimization worldwide.

2. Tasks and responsibilities
        
Leadership & talent Management:

• Lead, mentor, and inspire multidisciplinary engineering teams across software, hardware, and AI domains. Directly manage and coach Team Leaders, conducting performance appraisals and facilitating their professional growth and development.
   
• Drive competency management activities across the R&D department, ensuring the team possesses the necessary skills for current and future challenges.
   
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and high performance within the technology teams.
   
• Be actively involved in recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent.

Compliance & governance:

• Strategically manage and expand Ampacimon's Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio.
   
• Ensure rigorous compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 for R&D processes.
   
• Implement and enforce best practices in cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance across all technological operations.
   
• Oversee technology governance, including portfolio administration and the creation of guiding principles.

Business integration & collaboration:

• Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Sales, and other business units to ensure technology solutions are customer-centric, robust, and aligned with market demands.
   
• Manage technology budgets effectively and optimize resource allocation to achieve strategic objectives.
   
• Represent Ampacimon at key industry events, conferences, and engage with important stakeholders, promoting the company's technological leadership.
   
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with vendors, research institutions, and industry consortia.

Technological strategy & roadmap:

• Develop, articulate, and execute a forward-thinking technology strategy that directly supports and enables the company's overall business goals and objectives.
   
• As a core member of the Management Team, contribute to the broader corporate strategy, specifically owning the R&D programs required to meet business targets.
   
• Provide technical leadership and conduct due diligence for potential M&A acquisitions.
   
• Define and manage the product technology roadmap, prioritizing initiatives to maximize business impact.
   
• Identify emerging trends in energy grid technologies, AI, and related fields to maintain a competitive edge.

Technical execution & innovation:

• Take ultimate responsibility for the execution of all R&D projects and lead new technology development activities.
   
• Oversee the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of scalable software and hardware solutions, from conceptual innovation to commercial release and ongoing product lifecycle support.
   
• Champion the adoption and integration of advanced AI technologies, including machine learning, computer vision, and sophisticated data pipelines, to enhance product capabilities.
   
• Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to ensure Ampacimon remains at the forefront of its industry.
• Ensure operational excellence, agility, security, and reliance within the technology ecosystem

Operational & cross-team enablement:

• The CTO is expected to be physically present at Ampacimon's headquarters at least three days per week to ensure close alignment with the Management Team and operational leads. While leading internal teams, the CTO can also rely on external experts and consultants where necessary to accelerate delivery and innovation. A key focus will be the further development of core software product lines, the optimization of the operational platform and internal facility systems, and providing active mentorship to the self-supporting development team in Spain.

3. Objectives for the first 12 months
        

• Define and communicate a unifying technology vision and 18-month roadmap (software & hardware).
   
• Initiate the SaaS transition: scalable architecture, cloud/on-prem readiness, and first implementation steps.
   
• Optimize the R&D organization: structure, leadership, team scaling (internal + Spain + external partners).
   
• Ensure ISO 27001 & cybersecurity compliance across all tech domains.
   
• Strengthen platform performance and delivery processes; reduce time-to-deployment.
   
• Increase external visibility: represent Ampacimon at key events and build partnerships in LatAm & Australia.
   
• Foster cross-functional collaboration between tech, product, and operations.

The CTO reports directly to the CEO
