Function
The NextGenCom programme aims to offer a safer, higher-performing alternative to the TETRA technology. By employing a hybrid approach and using more modern technologies (e.g., multi-broadcasting, wavethru), together with their chosen partner, ASTRID wants to build a reliable MCRAN for all emergency services to further optimise their effectiveness and response time.
As a Product Owner, you are responsible for managing more complex initiatives with a deep understanding, interest, and experience in network architecture and RAN, as well as strong negotiation skills (and you confidently handle customer interactions) and project management skills. This challenging role primarily revolves around the management of strategic technical building blocks and projects.
This role combines strategic leadership and technical expertise with strong communication and project management skills. It involves defining solutions (from requirements to specifications and design), managing projects with a focus on cost optimisation and technological innovation, and effectively collaborating with all internal and external partners.
Profile

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree (Engineering degree) in electronics/telecommunications or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in managing/designing mobile networks or as a technical project manager/Product Owner.

Broad and relevant expertise in telecom (digital communication, virtual network setups).

Well-acquainted with the operation of an MNO, 4G/5G networks (CORE-RAN), SIM technologies, and applications & features.

Relevant knowledge of IT networking (IP & VLAN, switching, security, virtualisation).

Ability to understand the architecture of mobile networks and RAN and grasp the essence of the solution.

Familiar with Agile methodology and project management.

Proficient with MS-Project (knowledge of Jira/Confluence is a plus).

Analytical, communicative, and inspiring with a strong sense of technological and strategic trends.

Fluent, both orally and in writing, in Dutch, French, and technical English.

A team player who can set the necessary priorities.

Possesses a valid B driving license.

Affinity with the emergency and security services is a plus.
