EMPWR is currently investing in the digitization of its factories worldwide, more specifically in the implementation of an MES and a Data Historian system. The first implementation is planned in Croatia and should quickly expand to the other sites in the Netherlands, the US, and possibly Canada later on.

The Lead MES is responsible for the strategy, implementation, and management of the global MES and production-related systems.
He/she develops, manages, and optimizes the entire digital factory: MES, SAP integration, automation, IT infrastructure, master data, etc.

He/she is responsible for the technology roadmap of execution systems, supplier and partner relationships, change management, and operates as global template owner for the rollout of MES.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Strategy & architecture:

  • You will acquire knowledge of the operational processes of the various production sites worldwide in order to propose appropriate solutions, working closely with IT colleagues (infrastructure, SAP, data analytics, etc.) and automation teams.
  • You will determine the strategy for expanding and optimizing execution systems.
  • You will manage the strategic roadmap and project portfolio and coordinate priorities with business partners and the management team.
  • You make choices regarding system architecture, integration with SAP, and data historians with a view to ensuring scalability and standardization across the various production sites.
  • You identify new tools and technologies on the market.

Project management & implementation:

  • You take the lead in the implementation of MES across the various production sites in line with the roadmap that has been drawn up. In doing so, you monitor the global template.
  • You are responsible for coordinating between internal teams and external suppliers
  • You ensure compliance with the schedule, budget, and quality.

Process Optimization:

  • You translate production processes into new MES functionalities.
  • You are responsible for setting up reports, dashboards, and KPI monitoring.
  • You initiate improvement projects based on data insights.

Stakeholder management:

  • You are responsible for coordination with internal stakeholders such as production managers and the SAP team; 
  • You coordinate collaboration with external partners for projects.

 

Profile

  • You have a master's degree or equivalent through experience;
  • You have extensive experience with MES architecture and management, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, or process industry;
  • Experience with Siemens Opcenter and/or Insights Hub is a plus;
  • Experience with Loftware/Nicelabel is a plus;
  • You have experience with project management (preferably regarding MES implementations) and collaboration with external partners;
  • Experience in an international environment (SAP/multi-plant/multi-region) is a plus;
  • Willing to travel: 10-20%, mainly to manufacturing sites in the Netherlands, Croatia, the USA, and Canada.
