IT Manager @ Vermeiren NV
AMO04464
Function
As an IT Manager at Vermeiren NV, you play a crucial role in structuring, modernizing, and scaling the legacy IT environment to optimally facilitate international growth and ambitions digitally. You take full ownership and act as the vital bridge between executive management, international hubs, and branches on one hand, and technical IT operations on the other. Within this transition, you will transform IT from a purely operational, supporting department into a fully-fledged strategic business partner.
Your main responsibilities include:
-
Strategy & Architecture: Designing a strategic IT roadmap for the next 1 to 3 years and ensuring an optimal balance between the business-critical legacy environment (AS400) and modern enterprise or cloud applications (such as Salesforce and Power BI).
-
Security & Compliance: Structurally upgrading IT security, including the broad rollout of MFA/2FA, the implementation of Microsoft Intune, and ensuring system compliance with NIS2 directives.
-
Team & Operations Management: Leading, coaching, and professionalizing the internal IT team (±4 FTE) and international key users, including shifting from ad-hoc support to a structured, process-driven way of working.
-
Vendor Management: Strategically managing, critically challenging, and evaluating external IT service providers and consultants, including negotiating SLAs.
-
Project Portfolio: Initiating, budgeting, and delivering complex, international projects end-to-end, such as network modernization, e-invoicing (Peppol), warehouse scanning, and setting up the IT infrastructure for new foreign depots.
Profile
For this role, we are looking for a hands-on leader who effortlessly combines strategic vision with a pragmatic and operational mindset:
-
Education & Experience: You hold a university degree combined with approximately 10 to 15 years of relevant IT experience.
-
Industry Background: Experience within a manufacturing context, industrial SME, or an international distribution environment is highly preferred.
-
Expertise: Knowledge of supply chain and logistical flows is a strong asset.
-
Track Record: You have proven experience in (re)structuring legacy, hybrid IT environments and driving transformation processes.
-
Leadership Style: You are a no-nonsense people manager capable of building trust, implementing change step-by-step with empathy, and bridging the gap clearly between IT and the business.
-
Languages: You communicate fluently and professionally in both Dutch and English.
Offer
A key position with a broad mandate to fundamentally structure and professionalize the IT environment. A wide, international responsibility within a stable and healthily growing Belgian family business. Direct reporting lines to the CEO and CFO, ensuring short decision-making lines and a major impact on the organization.
