IT Infra & Ops Manager @ Renson
AMD04500
Function
In this role, you hold end responsibility for the overall operations of Renson’s IT infrastructure and its global helpdesk/support organization. You will lead a team of 11 to 12 FTEs (comprising System Engineers, Support Specialists, and IT Administration), focusing heavily on people management, coaching, and elevating team maturity. You do not need to be a deep technical specialist diving into Azure consoles yourself, but you possess enough technical background to spar effectively with your specialists, manage budgets, and strategically challenge vendors. Additionally, you serve as a pragmatic bridge to the shop floor (OT) and international business units.
Responsibilities
- Coaching, motivating, and raising the maturity level of the System Engineering and Helpdesk teams (11–12 FTEs);
- Strategically and operationally managing international support and infrastructure needs (including the US site);
- Monitoring and optimizing IT infrastructure costs and cloud budgets. You are a strong, pragmatic negotiator capable of managing executive-level discussions with strategic partners. Within a modern IT landscape, you will manage relationships and contracts with key partners such as Microsoft Azure, SAP, Proximus/Citymesh, Dell (servers and PCs), Fortinet, Secutec, and MS Defender;
- Overseeing infrastructure hardware to support the advanced digitalization of the shop floor (OT) in the context of the SAP rollout;
- Pragmatically structuring and securing ITIL-based processes (incident, problem, and change management) without sacrificing the agility of a family-owned company;
- Ensuring disaster recovery readiness, system uptime, and overall business continuity;
- Closely monitoring cybersecurity initiatives, license management, and the implementation of innovative trends (such as AI applications within operations).
Profile
Experience and Background
- You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field;
- You have at least 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure operations, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or coaching role;
- You have a solid, proven understanding of ITIL processes and experience in professionalizing service management and ticketing tools (such as the ongoing Topdesk rollout);
- You are experienced in defining, monitoring, and achieving SLAs and KPIs (e.g., ensuring 99.9% uptime for critical systems and reducing lead/resolution times);
- You have theoretical knowledge of or experience with security standards and compliance guidelines (such as ISO 27001 and NIS2);
- You have a strong foundation in vendor and license management, reviewing contracts with service providers and tightly managing hardware budgets (PC imaging, laptops, etc.);
- You are willing to travel to international locations, including the US, Australia, and Italy.
Competencies
- Leadership & Communication: You are a mature, decisive people manager who provides clear direction to highly skilled system engineers while coaching operational support personnel;
- Customer-Centric & Result-Driven: You strive for high end-user satisfaction and build processes that resolve incidents proactively and efficiently;
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: You maintain a high-level overview at all times, distinguish priorities from minor details, and respond calmly and methodically during escalations or incidents (including outside standard business hours);
- Commercial & Cost-Conscious: You excel at stakeholder management and know how to negotiate effectively during budget discussions or reviews with external cloud and hardware vendors;
- Innovative Drive: You stay up to date with modern infrastructure trends and approach emerging technologies, such as AI, with a pragmatic mindset.
