Consulting Manager @ On IT

AMV04506

Function

As Consulting Manager, you are the driving and coordinating force behind the successful delivery of digital planning projects (Visual Planning) for On IT's SME clients. You combine a strong functional process vision with an overarching, strategic helicopter view to safeguard the professionalism and efficiency of project execution. Your primary focus lies in overseeing and structuring the entire project portfolio. You ensure that projects are delivered profitability, with high quality, and within the agreed scope and timeline, serving as the central escalation point and guardian of project profitability.

In this role, you manage projects not only organizationally, but also ensure that functional and process-oriented translations into the Visual Planning software run optimally. Thanks to a deep background in business processes—preferably within a logistics, production, or manufacturing environment—you speak the client's language and provide content-level guidance to the team where necessary. Although you thoroughly understand operational client challenges and actively help build the foundations of major trajectories, your added value lies in overseeing the big picture, proactively managing resources and schedules, and acting as an assertive sparring partner to key stakeholders.

As a born facilitator, you take on daily leadership and mentorship of the team. You apply a supportive leadership style: you are not a traditional 'boss', but coach and support the team to bring complex analyses and configurations to a successful conclusion. You introduce structure, set clear KPIs for project tracking, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing. In doing so, you build the operational and organizational foundation to professionalize the division sustainably and prepare it for further ambitious growth across the Benelux.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Project Management & Team Coordination (70%)

  • A-to-Z Project Management: Leading complex implementation trajectories from kick-off to final delivery and aftercare.

  • Budget & Scope Control: Ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on time, and according to agreements, with a sharp eye on project profitability.

  • KPI & Planning: Setting up necessary KPIs for project tracking and monitoring daily resources and team scheduling.

  • Supportive Leadership: Coaching and guiding the team. Serving as an escalation point for complex functional questions and promoting active knowledge sharing.

  • Expectation Management: Maintaining an assertive stance toward clients; having the confidence to say 'no' when scope is at risk and managing expectations professionally.

  • Process Analysis: Diving into the client's business processes and planning challenges alongside the team (preferably in process-driven or manufacturing environments).

  • Workshops & Design: Leading and facilitating functional workshops with key client stakeholders to map requirements clearly.

  • Functional Advice: Translating complex business requirements into practical, configurable solutions within Visual Planning.

Business Development & Account Management (10%)

  • Commercial Mindset: Acting not as a 'hard' salesperson, but understanding client needs intuitively. Utilizing your seniority and expertise to act as a 'trusted advisor' and organically identifying new opportunities with existing clients.

  • Presales Support: Supporting complex sales processes when needed by convincingly presenting solution methodology and process-oriented value to decision-makers.

Profile

Experience and Background

  • Senior Level: Minimum 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in project management, business analysis, or IT consultancy. You bring the maturity and seniority required to engage as an equal sparring partner with C-level decision-makers.

  • Software Implementations: Proven track record in successfully managing and delivering end-to-end software implementations or digital transformation journeys.

  • Process-Driven Background: Strong analytical skills and deep process insight. Experience in and functional knowledge of manufacturing, logistics, production, or construction environments is a major asset, as it significantly facilitates translation to planning software.

  • Team Coordination: Experience coordinating, leading, and coaching multidisciplinary teams in a project environment.

  • Stakeholder Management: Highly experienced in facilitating workshops and managing expectations across diverse stakeholder levels.

  • Pluses: Experience with specific planning, ERP, APS, or supply chain solutions is a strong advantage. Certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or Scrum are also considered a plus.

Competencies

  • Supportive Leadership: You do not act as an authoritarian 'boss' to the team, but maintain a coaching, facilitating, and supportive style. You are there to remove roadblocks, encourage knowledge sharing, and help the team grow.

  • Assertiveness & Expectation Management: Firm stance toward clients. Strong communication skills and enough assertiveness to say 'no' when scope, budget, or timeline are threatened.

  • Client Focus & Commercial Acumen: Possessing the soft skills needed to understand clients seamlessly and build long-term relationships of trust. While not a 'hard' sales role, you organically identify commercial opportunities and win projects based on expertise and added value.

  • Helicopter View & Result Orientation: Keeping sight of the big picture, project progress, and internal KPIs at all times. Sharply focused on project profitability, steering proactively to hit targets on time and within budget.

  • Entrepreneurship: Proactive, independent, and demonstrating strong ownership. Contributes thoughts on professionalizing and structuring a growing team, viewing the growth path toward full end-responsibility as a logical next step.

Offer

  • Scale-up dynamics with enterprise stability: Experience short decision lines, agility, and the entrepreneurial spirit of a tight-knit team, backed by the strength and resources of the broader On IT group (200+ employees).

  • Autonomy and impact: Complete freedom to shape projects, optimize processes, and leave a direct mark on the growth of the business unit.

  • No traditional hierarchy: A no-nonsense culture with a down-to-earth mindset. The role is built on supportive leadership and mutual synergy, not micromanagement.

  • Pragmatic culture: No ivory towers or endless procedures—the focus is on pragmatic solutions that truly work on the client's operational floor.

Consulting Manager @ On IT

On IT is a technology partner that supports SMEs throughout their entire digital transformation journey. The company does not position itself as a standard IT provider, but rather strives for Digital Success: creating total added value by not only deploying technology, but also strengthening the customer’s capabilities.

Since its founding in 2021 as the ICT platform of Around Partners, On IT has experienced strong growth, mainly through targeted acquisitions. The expertise of various specialized companies has been brought together within On IT, resulting today in a broad and complementary service offering. Depending on their specialization, these entities operate as autonomous teams or are fully integrated into the existing organization. Each team focuses on one specific solution, ensuring deep expertise within a broad organization.

Within the Application Services department, the Visual Planning Team operates in a distinctly entrepreneurial way and manages projects end to end: from presales and initial customer workshops, through defining functional requirements, to the actual integration and configuration of the Visual Planning tool and the final handover to the user. For specific custom development, the team works closely with a back-office team in India.
