Function
As a Functional Analyst, you form the bridge between the Visual Planning platform and the customer's IT ecosystem. You are responsible for configuring the planning board for your customers based on the discussed needs. Here, you start with the correct data structure so that the planning board can be seamlessly integrated with other systems at the customer. Where necessary, you assist the customer in setting up the integration between their systems. You are involved in interim validations.
Tasks and responsibilities
In this role, the emphasis lies on integration, connectivity, and technical management:
- System Integration & API Management: Translating business requirements into technical API contracts and realizing connections via REST and SOAP.
- Technical Parameterization: Technically setting up the planning environment (configuration of data fields, logic, and workflows) based on functional needs.
- Connectivity & Real-time Data: Implementing webhooks and potentially WebSockets to guarantee real-time communication and data exchange between systems.
- Authentication Management: Technically linking the application with the customer's authentication methods, such as SSO, OAuth 2.0, or OpenID Connect.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Technically reproducing problems on test machines and proactively adjusting connections when the customer's IT environment changes (e.g., with new API keys or server updates).
- Cross-team Collaboration: Working closely with functional analysts in Belgium and the technical team in India to strategically develop ecosystem designs.
Profile
Experience and Background
- You possess an IT-oriented diploma.
- Data & Architecture: You have a fundamental understanding of databases, data structures (JSON schema design), and the ability to split processes into logical technical steps.
- API & Integration Expertise:
- Thorough knowledge of RESTful API design (resource modeling, HTTP methods) and SOAP.
- Proficiency in working with OpenAPI/Swagger and understanding of event-driven architectures (webhooks, async messaging).
- Experience with real-time communication protocols such as WebSockets.
- Security & Identity: Basic knowledge of modern authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT) and the management of API keys.
- Documentation: Ability to translate business requirements into technical API contracts and structured documentation.

- Technical Problem-Solving Ability: You can split a complex process into small, logical steps and understand the architectural dependencies of technologies.
- Hands-on Configuration: You enjoy effectively working "under the hood" of software and setting things right.
- Communication: You can communicate clearly with both the IT services of customers and your direct colleagues.
- You are patient and accurate in your explanations.
- Eagerness to Learn: You are willing to fully immerse yourself in OpenAPI specifications (Swagger), webhooks, and async messaging.
- Quality Focus: You work very accurately, especially during the testing phases and the creation of technical documentation.
Language Knowledge
- You have knowledge of Dutch and English; knowledge of French is an asset.
