Business Analyst @ Wonen in Vlaanderen

AMF04232

Function

As a Business Analyst at Wonen in Vlaanderen, you are the key link between business and IT. You analyze and structure complex processes and translate them into well-supported digital solutions, with attention to both functional and organizational needs. You work closely with stakeholders from policy, IT, and operational teams, clearly mapping out processes and information flows. In doing so, you support programs and projects from business case to implementation, and actively contribute to building up the organization’s analytical capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a bridge between business and IT: analyzing processes and translating them into digital solutions;
  • Modeling of processes and information flows using BPMN, story maps, and user stories;
  • Preparing business cases and proposals for digitalization and optimization;
  • Collaborating with product owners, developers, and data architects on functional needs and information architecture;
  • Collecting and structuring needs through workshops, interviews, and document analysis;
  • Contributing to roadmap development within programs and to knowledge sharing within the analyst team;
  • Liaising with a variety of stakeholders (policy makers, POs, IT, local authorities).

Profile

Experience

  • Several years of experience as a Business Analyst in complex environments, preferably in digital transformation projects within the public sector or social services.
  • Experience with process modeling techniques such as BPMN, story mapping, and user stories.
  • Knowledge of financial processes and systems (preferably SAP) in the context of digitizing banking functions.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and aligning interests between policymakers, product owners, technical teams, and other actors.
  • Understanding of ICT governance, enterprise architecture, and project portfolio management; smooth collaboration with architects and governance profiles.
  • Knowledge of change and release management, and capable of performing and communicating impact analyses.
  • Ability to consider information security and privacy (such as GDPR) in process modeling.
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban; good collaboration with Scrum Masters and Product Owners.
  • Systematic documentation in line with ICT standards and active contribution to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills combined with a helicopter view.
  • Clear communication with various stakeholders.
  • Customer-oriented, decisive, and a real team player.

Language Skills
Strong command of Dutch is required for this role; English is a plus.

Offer

  • You will join a highly innovative environment that is committed to contributing to socially relevant goals.
  • The culture is characterized by a very collegial collaboration between ICT, business, and external partners, within a driven and pragmatic context.
  • This is a visible and impactful role. You play a crucial part in ensuring a solid project approach that ultimately leads to better services for citizens.
  • This position also offers opportunities for growth and development within the organization. You can further evolve and take on additional responsibilities, depending on organizational needs and your own interests and preferences.
  • You will be part of a people-oriented organization that actively helps you find a good work-life balance. You’ll benefit from flexible working hours, the latest forms of hybrid work, and ample opportunities to work from home, supported by the necessary tools (monitor, laptop, keyboard, etc.) to work efficiently.
  • The head office of Wonen in Vlaanderen is located in the modern Herman Teirlinck building on the Tour & Taxis site, near Brussels North Station.
