Roles and Responsibilities
As an IT Infrastructure Project Manager, you play a key role in translating business objectives into concrete, well-structured IT infrastructure projects. You manage the entire project lifecycle – from initiation to delivery – bringing structure through methodologies and introducing best practices.
You will be part of a dynamic project team within DP World Antwerp and play a crucial role in designing, coordinating, and delivering infrastructure projects that contribute to the ongoing digitalization and efficiency of terminal operations.
Your responsibilities include:
Project Planning and Execution

Creating detailed project plans, allocating resources, and managing schedules

Executing and delivering IT infrastructure projects that contribute to the organization’s technological growth
Stakeholder Management

Working closely with internal IT, business teams, and external partners

Managing expectations and communication throughout the entire project lifecycle
Risk and Issue Management

Identifying and mitigating risks and issues early with concrete mitigation actions
Budget and Resource Management
-
Responsible for the full project budget and resources

Monitoring scope, schedule, quality, and financial boundaries
Quality and Compliance
-
Ensuring all project deliverables comply with internal quality standards and regulations (including security)

Ensuring smooth handover to operational teams
Continuous Improvement

Evaluating completed projects and improving processes and approaches based on lessons learned
Reason for the Vacancy
This role is currently filled by an external consultant. DP World is now looking for an internal colleague to take over. This vacancy is part of the shift from a previously ad hoc and reactive approach to a more structured, proactive form of project management within IT infrastructure.
There is a growing need for better oversight, predictability, and methodology to efficiently and timely deliver complex projects. Therefore, DP World is looking for an IT Infrastructure Project Manager who wants to help drive this maturity growth and bring structure to the execution of the project portfolio over the long term.
Profile
Education
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Economics, or a technical field
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in project management within an infrastructure environment
- Experience bridging operational management and project execution, preferably in IT infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with project methodologies such as stage-gate and skilled in tools like MS Project
- Experience introducing structure and standardization into project environments
- Knowledge of a broad range of technologies: storage and network architecture, data centers, cloud, hybrid environments, etc.
- Experience improving project maturity, e.g., through process development, portfolio management, or project templates
- Experience with projects at the intersection of CAPEX and OPEX, such as hardware lifecycle management (printers, data centers), and comfortable managing project budgets of €5M or more

- Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, to technical teams and business stakeholders
- A proactive attitude: able to identify organizational needs early and convert them into structural improvements
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Accurate and goal-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, using a structured approach
- Results-driven and resilient under pressure; capable of maintaining oversight amidst conflicting priorities
- Full discretion and respect for confidential information
Languages
Dutch is used as the primary language of communication at DP World Antwerp. A good command of English, both spoken and written, is essential.
