What’s Cooking has taken significant steps through its continuous optimization program to enhance the organization's ‘Operational Excellence,’ ensuring the development of more sustainable, high-quality, and innovative products. At What’s Cooking Ready Meals, the IT Service Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining a stable and efficient IT infrastructure, specifically for the two sites in Wallonia (Marche-en-Famenne and Wanze). This role helps enhance employee productivity and flexibility within a secure and high-performing IT environment.
Due to the increasing complexity of the IT landscape, it is essential to have skilled professionals for proactive monitoring, rapid problem resolution, and effective support in optimizing core processes. This contributes to the continuity and sustainability of production processes.
Responsibilities and Tasks
As an IT Service Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for technical support within the organization. You ensure that end users (over 600 employees in total, with 100 to 150 specifically in Wallonia) can work efficiently by resolving IT issues quickly and effectively.
Your responsibilities include:

Technical support for end users:
- Providing first- and second-line support via phone, email, chat, or a ticketing system.
- Resolving issues related to Office software, network connections, badge readers, and other systems.
- Assisting vendors who require access to IT systems.
- Escalating complex problems to the System Engineer or third-line support.

Onboarding and equipment management:
- Managing IT onboarding for new employees and ensuring a smooth startup.
- Delivering and installing new devices such as laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
- Installing, configuring, and updating software and hardware.

Incident management and system monitoring:
- Logging, analyzing, and resolving IT-related incidents.
- Monitoring IT systems and networks to detect and prevent issues early.

Documentation and training:
- Creating and maintaining documentation, knowledge articles, and user manuals.
- Training and supporting employees in using software, systems, and tools.

Collaboration and communication:
- Acting as the main IT contact for internal employees.
- Working closely with various stakeholders to provide efficient solutions.
Profile
Experience and Background
- Initial relevant work experience in a similar role.
- Strong interest in or affinity with production environments.
- Extensive knowledge of IT landscapes and a broad understanding of technologies.
- Willingness to travel occasionally between the two sites.
- Prepared to participate in an on-call duty system.
