Function

As a Digital Workplace Manager, you directly contribute to the employees' user experience at the National Bank of Belgium regarding their workplace. Your input, adjustments, and critical perspective ensure that employees can perform their tasks more efficiently. You ensure that workplace technology functions properly, employees remain productive, and all technical and digital tools are fully utilized. In this role, you will operationally manage the Digital Workplace Team, closely monitor projects and endpoints, and ensure that the digital workplace not only functions well but also meets the needs and expectations of the employees. This promotes collaboration, communication, and innovation within the organization, positively impacting the overall operations and business results of the National Bank of Belgium. In consultation with business and technical stakeholders within the National Bank of Belgium, you will develop a vision for the digital workplace and its further evolution, supporting the future growth of the National Bank of Belgium.

Your tasks include:

  • Translating business questions: Translate business questions into project initiatives with SMEs. Analyze needs, design solutions, and coordinate implementation.
  • Digital Workplace Strategy: Introduce and evaluate digital workplace initiatives that align with the NBB’s IT strategy. Research projects, assess impact and feasibility, and propose for implementation.
  • Infrastructure and application design: Collaborate with SMEs on infrastructure and application designs, focusing on security and architecture.
  • Work estimation and prioritization: Assess work estimates with SMEs, set priorities, and create a feasible schedule.
  • Monitoring digital workplace projects: Track the progress of digital workplace projects, resolve issues, and ensure a well-functioning digital workplace.
  • Shaping IT strategy: Collaborate with IT architects on the IT strategy, share knowledge, and ensure an integrated and effective IT landscape.

Profile

Experience and Background:

  • You have completed higher education (ideally a master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar technical discipline).
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in designing and/or implementing "modern workplace" solutions and associated collaboration platforms.
  • You possess excellent technical competencies within the workplace domain, including endpoint management and cloud services such as Microsoft Intune, Azure, and M365.
  • With your technical knowledge, you are able to challenge and push technical experts when implementing solutions.

  • You are willing to take ultimate responsibility with a continuous improvement mindset and do not shy away from challenges.
  • You have an honest and transparent communication style that is hands-on and goal-oriented, both with direct and indirect colleagues.
  • You have the ability to prioritize and manage tasks, as well as lead and coordinate meetings.

Digital Workplace Manager @ NBB

The National Bank has been the central bank of Belgium since 1850. It performs tasks of general interest, both nationally and internationally. In total, it employs some 2,000 people, of whom about 400 focus on the Prudential Supervision (established in 2011 – divided into five departments) of banks, payment institutions, electronic money institutions, stock exchange companies, insurance companies and market infrastructures (more than 200 entities in Belgium).
