Function
As a System Engineer, you will assume full responsibility for Steelforce's IT infrastructure and ensure its scalability across our global offices. This role is crucial for the management, optimization, and further professionalization of our IT environment. You will play a central part in guaranteeing the stability, security, and efficiency of all IT systems and applications, with a strong focus on cloud-based infrastructure.
In the long term, you have the opportunity to grow into an IT Manager position, where you will gain ultimate responsibility for IT within Steelforce, including the development and management of policies and the structuring and organization of applications.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the entire IT infrastructure at the head office in Antwerp and providing advice and support to colleagues worldwide, using tools like Intune and TeamViewer.
- Structuring and managing all various Microsoft applications, such as SharePoint and Teams.
- Manages the company's security at all levels, ranging from endpoint security to configuration within various Cloud SaaS platforms (Microsoft).
- You are the central point of contact for all IT-related questions, covering software, network, and hardware.
- In due course, you will take on responsibilities for developing and managing various IT-related policies, including security, GDPR, disaster recovery, and documentation.
- Independently implements and configures new Microsoft SaaS solutions, such as SharePoint or OneDrive.
- Collaborates with external partners for specific expertise, for example, during the implementation of a new backup system.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of the network, including setting up new switches and optimizing the local network infrastructure.
Profile
Experience and Background
- Demonstrable experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on cloud-based environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Cloud SaaS platforms (including SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune) is essential.
- Experience in network management, including setting up new switches.
- Experience in IT security, including endpoint security, backup systems, antivirus management, and implementing new security measures.
- Experience with drafting and implementing IT policies (e.g., GDPR, recovery, documentation).
Competencies
- A strong hands-on mentality, where you act as a generalist, open to everything from replacing hardware to implementing new SaaS solutions.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a role where processes and structures need to be optimized and organized.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team player who collaborates smoothly with both internal and external partners.
- Insight and maturity to perform IT tasks in a high-quality manner.
- A proactive attitude towards organizing and gradually implementing IT improvements, with a focus on bringing the IT environment up to standard.
Language Skills
- English and Dutch are an absolute must.
- Knowledge of other languages is a plus, given the company's international context.
