Function
The IT Business Controller at Equans is responsible for the overall financial management and control of the IT function. He or she ensures accurate planning, monitoring, and optimization of the IT budget and financial performance through structured analysis, reporting, and recommendations to management. The role includes overseeing IT costs, investments, and project financials, ensuring transparent internal cost allocation and efficient use of resources. In addition, the IT Business Controller safeguards compliance with financial policies and governance, acts as a key financial partner to IT, finance, and procurement, and provides the necessary tools, insights, and processes to strengthen financial discipline and value creation across Equans’ IT organization.
Financial Planning, Budget & Cost Control
- Own and manage the IT budget, forecasts, and actuals.
- Perform variance analyses and ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
- Monitor and optimize IT expenditures (Opex & Capex) and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and track key cost drivers.
- Ensure efficient allocation of financial resources and strong budget discipline.
Financial Oversight of IT Operations & Projects
- Oversee financial performance of IT projects and ensure delivery within budget.
- Evaluate business cases and investment value of IT initiatives.
- Ensure accurate and timely rebilling to internal customers and maintain the rebilling framework.
- Act as the main contact for procurement topics (POs, ordering, vendors) and support vendor financial management.
Reporting, Compliance & Governance
- Prepare and deliver financial reports, insights, and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.
- Maintain transparency and control over financial processes and cost allocation.
Business Partnering & Process Support
- Act as a financial business partner to IT and align with finance and business objectives.
- Facilitate financial discussions and ensure cross-functional alignment.
- Provide tools, templates, and guidance to support IT teams in budget and financial processes.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization of financial processes within IT.

Profile
Background and experience
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
- At least 7 years of experience in financial management, incl. 5 in a senior IT controlling role
- Demonstrated proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP) and analytical tools
- Deep knowledge of IT financial processes, including budget, forecast, recharging, Opex and Capex management
- Familiarity with detailed financial reporting standards and practices, with a strong focus on detailed financial documentation and record-keeping

Languages
Fluency in English and at least one of the Belgian national languages (Dutch or French)
