As part of the multidisciplinary itsme® Quality Assurance team, the Senior QA Engineer takes ownership of the end-to-end test automation lifecycle, ensuring that all backend systems meet the highest standards of quality. The engineer collaborates closely with developers, product owners, and other QA team members to integrate automated testing into the development workflow and improve overall testing practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the test automation framework for backend systems and mobile applications using JAVA and Appium.
- Design and implement automation scripts for mobile and backend test cases, including generating the required test data.
- Understand acceptance criteria for user stories, draft and execute comprehensive test plans, and report on test results.
- Manage the full lifecycle of test automation: feasibility studies, test design, environment setup, script development, execution, and reporting.
- Work with tools such as JIRA, Git, Postman, and Cucumber to plan, track, and execute automated testing.
- Support the QA team and development teams in improving testing practices and adopting DevOps methodologies from a testing perspective.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to colleagues, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders about risks, issues, and progress, demonstrating assertiveness and constructive push-back when needed.
- Assist with understanding and coordinating release management processes, without being directly responsible for deployments.
- Contribute to the improvement of testing practices for both backend and mobile platforms, optionally bringing expertise in Go language or mobile-specific testing.

Profile
Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in test automation within complex IT environments.
- Hands-on experience with any Object-Oriented Programming language (preferably Java) and test automation frameworks, particularly Appium for mobile applications.
- Strong experience in API/backend testing and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git/GitHub) and tools such as JIRA, Postman, and Cucumber.
- Experience in financial services or platform-based environments with strong security and data privacy requirements is highly valued.
