Function

As a Group IT Security Architect at Ageas, you will play a key role in strengthening the cybersecurity posture across the Group. Working in a modern and mature technology environment, you will contribute to the design and continuous improvement of security operations, architecture, and governance. You will have the opportunity to keep daily contact with the technical leadership of the main suppliers and market players such as Microsoft, or Belgian national or European cybersecurity organizations and associations. As a trusted advisor to entities and the Corporate Center, you ensure alignment with Group standards while identifying synergies and driving innovation. Your role spans operational coordination, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement, making it both technically challenging and highly impactful at Group level. 

Group level Security Operations & SOC Coordination

  • Act as a technical advisor for the Group's MSSP and SOC activities.
  • Oversee onboarding of security log sources and ensure efficient log management (SIEM/SOAR).
  • Support the definition and maintenance of detection use cases and incident response playbooks.
  • Continuously assess and improve SOC operations, including MSSP performance and the SOC Target Operating Model (TOM).
  • Lead technical input for IT Security RfPs and vendor evaluations.

Security Architecture & Implementation Support

  • Contribute to the definition of Group-wide security architecture, including strategy, governance, and technology choices.
  • Translate security policies into practical frameworks and operational procedures.
  • Support implementation of Group security assets by working with internal teams and external partners.
  • Perform Business Risk Assessments and ensure alignment with Group standards.

Asset & Project Portfolio Management

  • Actively manage Group-level security solutions and services, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Identify security project necessities, plan and supervise security projects
  • Analyze IT Security projects across entities to identify synergies and propose Group-wide initiatives.
  • Consolidate operational dashboards and reports (KPIs/KRIs) and track action plans from audits and assessments.

Advisory, Community Engagement & Knowledge Sharing

  • Provide expert advice on cybersecurity improvements, best practices, and risk assessments.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across Ageas companies.
  • Support the Group IT Security Manager in coordinating the community of local IT Security leads and SMEs.

Governance, Compliance & Corporate Center Support

  • Monitor industry trends and emerging threats, sharing insights across the Group.
  • Support ISO 27001 certification efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • At the Corporate Center, oversee IT security programs, incident handling, risk validation, and policy compliance in alignment with Group directives.
     

Profile

Background and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT security, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH) is an advantage
  • Proven track record in security operations and project implementation.
  • Strong technical skills on IT Security (Endpoint Management, SIEM, SOAR)
  • Expertise in risk management and incident response.
  • Up-to-date understanding of cybersecurity trends and technologies.
  • Familiarity with security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong collaboration mindset and abilities
  • Autonomous in organizing and prioritizing own work in line with management guidelines and the strategy
