A common pitfall in organizations is that autonomous teams (system 1) are mainly focused on their own operations. But without insight into each other&#8217;s needs and impact, there\u2019s a <\/span><b>risk of silo thinking<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That is precisely why coordination (system 1) and operational management (system 2) are essential. They ensure coordination, adjustment and the prevention of blind spots &#8211; without falling into cumbersome bureaucracy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That also confirmed one<\/span><b> CIO of an international tech company during C-EATS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. He outlined how various autonomous teams operate in his organization:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A sales organisation who brings in customers;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An IT product team\u00a0 that builds solutions; and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> service team<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that implements solutions for customers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IT <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">senior leadership<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> focuses on strategy and coordination between these systems. But the temptation is great to intervene yourself.
