Function
Given the complex situation of the IT infrastructure across different divisions and the limited information available, it is crucial to work both hands-on while also maintaining the bigger picture and thinking strategically. Hence IT Manager + System Engineer.
Hands-on:
- Managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, including implementing technical solutions and configurations to enhance the operational stability and reliability of IT systems across the European divisions DSC and Cherrity.
- Managing Microsoft Windows Server, including configuration and maintenance.
- Implementing and managing virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Provisioning and optimizing cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS.
- Configuring and managing network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Installing, configuring, and monitoring firewalls for network security.
- Implementing and managing VLANs for network segmentation.
- Designing and implementing network separation techniques for enhanced security.
- Implementing integrated antivirus solutions, central policies, security measures, and standardized policies to increase efficiency and ensure compliance with regulations such as SOC2.
Strategy & IT organisation:
- Evaluating and improving the resilience and security of the IT infrastructure to ensure it is always available, secure, and reliable.
- Reevaluating the shared services model, including the managed service provider, within the European divisions to ensure uniformity and consistency in IT processes.
- Planning and implementing future technologies to meet growing business needs and technological advancements.
- Identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in the IT infrastructure, as well as implementing robust security measures and an effective disaster recovery plan.
- Presenting proposals to the management team regarding IT strategies, upgrades, replacements of outdated systems, and budgetary planning.
- Collaborating with the IT director to determine budgets and preparing proposals accordingly.
Profile
Background and experience
- Bachelor or Master degree in an IT related study domain
- Professional working experience with:
- Windows Server 2008-2019 including Active Directory
- VMware and Hyper-V administration
- Layer 3 networking and firewall administration
- Enterprise backup solutions (Veeam preferred)
- Security systems and platforms as well as associated concepts required for regulations such as GDPR
- Extensive Windows & Mac Desktop and End User support experience
- VoIP phone systems
- Strong understanding of technical hardware and software
Competences
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to grow and learn enterprise technologies.
- Ability/willingness to travel within Europe.
- Not nine to five type (e.g. contact with US)
Languages
- Fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch, French or Italian is an asset.
