Function
Purpose of the position
The Network and Security Engineer at Foundation Against Cancer manages hardware, network, security, and non-Salesforce applications. Responsibilities include overseeing IT infrastructure, ensuring system and data security, and providing application support. Coordination with smaller suppliers like Megabyte (responsible for maintenance BOB, PO, Complystation, and 3CX) and NSI (responsible for helpdesk and support services, infra monitoring, maintenance Aide finance) is crucial to meet IT needs efficiently.
An interesting aspect of this role is the diverse range of activities and responsibilities. While many tasks are currently handled in-house, future plans involve externalizing these activities, shifting the role to focus more on supplier coordination. Given its responsibility for the availability of all hardware and software, this position is vital to the organization’s success.
Tasks and responsibilities
3 Main responsibilities:
- Security Engineer (20%):
- Establish and maintain a corporate vision and strategy for system and data security.
- Monitor system and application configurations.
- Raising users' awareness of day-to-day safety issues
- Ensure security levels are maintained during changes and conduct technology monitoring.
- Support (30%)
- Coordinate the support service provider and provide documentation for effective Level 1 support provided by them.
- Offer Level 2 support and on-site support when required.
- Software (15%)
- Coordinate the maintenance (change requests and upgrades) of the IT tools used by the departments.
- Manage licenses, register, and configure domain names and DNS.
- Administer access control and SharePoint support.
- Perform access control for CRM (Salesforce)
- Other responsibilities are:
- Infrastructure: Purchase and Maintenance (10%): Manage user hardware, network (Firewall, Switches), internet access, and fixed telephony. Example projects: Renewing the Wi-Fi network, renewing the printers, moving the ADFS and the last on-premise servers to the Cloud, moving the phone system to the Cloud.
- Project Management (10%): Implement IT tools to meet department and end-user needs.
- Services (5%): Negotiate and replace services such as multifunction printers, online payments, telecom operators, server rentals, and backup management.
- Supplier Management (8%): Maintain supplier relations, monitor contracts, and manage equipment purchases to meet internal customer needs within the organizational strategy.
- Budget Preparation Assistance (2%): Assist with preparing budgets.
Profile
Background and Experience:
- You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree, preferably in IT, Computer Science or equivalent through experience;
- You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT infrastructure role.
- Proven experience with security software and hardware, including Fortinet Firewall, EntraID, FortiClient VPN, and Phished.io.
- Experience in managing and challenging suppliers in the security field.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office tools, Salesforce, Pardot, Drupal, and WordPress.
Languages
- English: Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
- French and/or Dutch: Knowledge of either language is advantageous.
