Clarebout Potatoes, headquartered in Heuvelland, originated from the activities of the Clarebout family's original potato business, which was involved in sorting and processing fresh potatoes. In 1988, Jan Clarebout, owner and CEO of Clarebout Potatoes, decided to shift the main activity to processing potatoes into various frozen potato products. These range from different types of frozen fries to specialties and potato flakes.

Clarebout Potatoes has grown to become the largest European producer and one of the world's leading producers of frozen potato products for private labels. They are highly export-oriented, distributing their products worldwide to more than 120 countries, including the Benelux, France, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Russia, and Australia. Their customers are in the segments of retail, catering, quick service restaurants, and the food industry. Due to their extensive expertise and over 30 years of experience, Clarebout Potatoes is able to assist customers in developing a unique brand identity.

By closely collaborating with their customers and identifying their needs, they are capable of developing, producing, packaging, and storing products fully tailored to the customer's requirements. Clarebout Potatoes has two state-of-the-art production sites, one in Nieuwkerke and one in Waasten, and is currently building a third production site in Dunkirk as part of their growth, financial opportunities, and stability. Additionally, they have various storage facilities, including in Diksmuide, Comines, Frameries, and more.

Clarebout Potatoes' focus on continuous growth is also evident from their acquisition of Mydibel in 2023, a company whose main activity is processing potatoes into cut, pre-fried, and frozen potato products. Strategic expansions, such as the construction of a third production site and the acquisition of Mydibel, have not only led to a significant increase in production capacity but also a substantial expansion of the workforce. Currently, the company has no less than 2,700 dedicated employees, each playing an essential role in Clarebout Potatoes' success.

This growth has enabled the company to achieve impressive milestones in financial performance. With an annual turnover of over 1 billion euros, Clarebout Potatoes remains a dominant player in the industry. This impressive achievement attests to the effectiveness of the business model, the dedication of the staff, and the continuous focus on quality and innovation.
