Purpose of the position
As an Operational Efficiency Engineer within ASTRID's Mobile Communication team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency and reliability of the telecom network, especially the ASTRID network which is vital for emergency and security services. Your duties include managing operational problems, analyzing service levels and operations, and suggesting improvements to optimize service quality. You will work closely with various stakeholders to plan and implement new technologies and infrastructure improvements, improving network capacity and reliability. By continuously striving for improvements, you will contribute to the overall efficiency and reliability of the ASTRID network, which is critical to the safety and well-being of the community.
Tasks and responsibilities
Your tasks and responsibilities include the following:
- As a manager of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), you ensure that agreed SLAs are met punctually. Your proactive approach enables you to closely monitor operational performance and identify and address deviations from SLAs.
- In your role as a problem analyst following the ITIL Framework, you will unravel complex incidents and problems with a combination of analytical thinking and in-depth technical knowledge. Your goal-oriented approach will help find effective solutions quickly and maintain operational stability.
- As a coordinator of patching and update processes, you will bring order and efficiency to the complex world of production updates. Your strategic planning and thorough preparation will ensure that updates are performed with minimal disruption to operational activities.
- You perform thorough testing to ensure compatibility and prevent unwanted disruptions. Your approach and attention to detail result in seamless implementations and a stable operational environment.
You drive initiatives to improve efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction. With a blend of creativity and analytical thinking, you will develop and implement strategies that optimize operational performance and increase stakeholder satisfaction. - You will define KPIs that enable accurate assessment of operational performance. Your deep understanding of business processes and ability to translate data into actionable insights will contribute to continuous performance improvement.
- You work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals.
As an Operational Efficiency Engineer, you play a key role at ASTRID by ensuring efficient, reliable and secure operation of the telecom network, with a focus on supporting the vital communication needs of emergency and security services.
Profile
Experience and background
- You have a solid technical background and more specifically a good knowledge of telecom environments and the following technologies:
- TETRA;
- Paging;
- Other mobile technologies (GSM, 3G/4G, …);
- Radio frequencies;
- Transmission network, radio links;
- Outdoor and confined space radio coverage.
- You are familiar with ITIL processes; certification is considered a plus.
- You have experience establishing KPIs and preparing reports on them.
- You are proficient in the use of MS-Office products.
- You have a healthy dose of curiosity and eagerness to learn about new future technologies.
Competencies
- You are stress resistant and have good communication and collaboration skills to communicate effectively with different stakeholders (colleagues, integrators, suppliers, customers, …).
- You can work independently, with a structured approach and a solution-oriented mindset. Likewise, you have the ability to work accurately and have an eye for detail.
Language skills
As Operational Efficiency Engineer you have good knowledge of Dutch, French and English.
