Function
The goal of the Application Specialist within Ardo is to be a crucial link in the support and optimization of the MES system. This specialist will ensure that operational processes run smoothly by resolving incidents quickly and effectively so that production lines can run uninterrupted. In addition, he/she will actively contribute to improvements in the software and processes, with the goal of increasing plant efficiency and productivity.
Another important aspect of the role is to participate in the implementation of IoT and energy solutions and further integration with the new SAP environment. This is essential to Ardo's focus on sustainability and improving energy efficiency in their production lines. The Application Specialist will ensure that the required data from MES is up-to-date, which is crucial for tracking and reporting energy consumption and achieving the company's sustainability goals.
The role of the Application Specialist is twofold, with priorities divided between operational support and improvements & strategic projects:
1) Operational Support.
An important part of the role is providing support, mainly in resolving incidents and technical problems within MES. To ensure continuity and efficiency of production, it is the specialist's responsibility to analyze problems and ensure that the system is back up and running properly, minimizing disruption to the operational process. The specialist must respond alertly to incoming tickets. A typical incident may be that a label printer is not working as expected or that the software is displaying an incorrect status.
2) Improvements, Adjustments and Strategic Projects (30%)
In addition to operational support, the Application Specialist is expected to play an active role in implementing improvement initiatives and thinking tactically/strategically about how the software and processes can be improved. This role is expected to grow over time, increasing the specialist's involvement in projects and process optimization. The specialist will contribute to improving the existing systems and software. This may involve optimizing workflows within MES or adapting the software to changing business processes. This requires collaborating with various teams and translating business requirements into technical solutions. The specialist is also expected to think along at a higher level about possible improvements to the applications and how they can better align with the organization's operational goals. This may eventually grow into a more strategic role, where the specialist will be increasingly involved in the long-term development of the digital landscape.
Profile
- You have at least a bachelor's degree in IT or have equivalent experience;
- You have initial experience with manufacturing processes and MES software. Experience with Aptean / Objective or production automation is a plus;
- You have excellent analytical skills and can work in detail as well as at a high level;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders are essential;
- It is not necessary to fully master all specific technologies or applications right away. A willingness to learn and buy into the unique environment is;
- You are willing to make short trips within Europe.
Competencies
- You are analytical / communicative / entrepreneurial and a real team player.
Language skills
- You are fluent in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a nice plus.
