Global Service Delivery Manager BI @ Manuchar



1.     Purpose of the position

Together with the Global Head of Service Delivery and his colleagues, the Global Service Delivery Manager BI & Reporting  has an enormous impact on the digitization of the organization. He/She will be responsible for the implementation of the complete renewal of the global BI & Reporting landscape of this fast growing multinational.  Together with the Global Head of Service Delivery he/she must bring IT leadership and vision into Manuchar, leading the global BI & Reporting delivery organization to a more efficient and mature level. Manuchar will build its global IT architecture based on a federal strategy: do centrally what makes sense to do at a central level and allow local affiliates to deviate from this central level when needed or justified

2.    The BI team

The service delivery team BI, consists out of a Global Service Delivery Manager BI & Reporting, who manages a team of software developers and an architect specialized in BI and data warehousing. The current platform is an on-premise SQL server / Power BI environment but is being replaced by a modern design in Azure SQL Server PaaS environment with a PowerBI cloud environment. This must allow for (near) realtime reporting and analytics for both internal as external usage and serve as central data warehouse for all affiliates. When needed this team can rely on the support of business analysts from the PMO Team.

3.    Reporting

The Global Service Delivery  Manager BI & Reporting reports directly to the Global Head of Service Delivery.

4    Tasks and responsibilities

  • Together with the Global Head of Service Delivery you establish and validate the short and the long term Business Intelligence vision, the strategy and the delivery plan. You have product ownership of the data platform, will build and deliver the global business intelligence and reporting landscape from scratch, guiding the business in global usage of data. You take strategic and tactical decisions on BI Delivery, in combination with the optimization of the BI & reporting landscape of Manuchar. 
  • You build and manage a proactive global BI team. The context of the BI team, and other teams is well described supra (2.2. the team of the Global Service Delivery manager BI & Reporting).You challenge and support your BI team in technology choices, delivery and process. Most of the team is based in HQ Antwerp. 
  • You implement a new next generation BI & Reporting solutions and you will manage the change (taking into account structural and cultural issues in a global context), maintain business and process continuity throughout change, monitor the impact, taking any required remedial action and refining approach.
  • You define the main technical, architectural choices and processes for data analysis and software development and you decide on the ‘how’ to implement. You lead and coordinate your team to ensure adequate application delivery. Quality and consistency are an important key performance indicator. You ensure compliance with the business and technology strategies.
  • You relate to and partner with enterprise architecture, other global service delivery managers and business owners to set direction & priorities.  Together with the Global Head of Service Delivery you’re in the lead of a very important digital transformation. 5. Some IT Application Delivery challenges of Manuchar:

  • Further develop state-of-the art analytics real-time and BI-reporting (in Azure, with data bricks, data lake, data warehouse, Power BI,…)  throughout the global organization for fact-based decision taking, real-time reporting towards customers, global status interactions customers, advanced predictions,… : data science).
  • Develop/Implement a new global transactional management system for trading.(back-to-back transactions, logistics & document tracking, transaction-profitability tracking and risk/controls compliance (credit, goods-releases, …)).
  • Using and integrating more in shipping market-places and/or booking platforms.( integration 3rd parties via API’s) to create strategic competitive advantage in trading and intercontinental logistics. 
  • Improving bank-line management and information exchange/platforms banks.
  • Integration and Orchestration Rolling out RPA to facilitate/reduce manual processing (part not replaceable with API).
  • Implementing solutions for price tracking of commodities & buying decisions.
  • Eliminate reprocessing between countries/units.

6.    Reason for the job opening

This is a new role in the organization! The role must bring more Data / Business Intelligence leadership and vision and assure that further steps in the delivery of the global digitization (BI and reporting) of the organization can be made. 

7.    Expectations first 3-6-12 months

●    3 months: Full assessment and understanding of the BI & Reporting landscape, the team and the business/IT priorities in delivery for moving forward. Mapping the “as is”.

●    3/6 months:  Getting involved in the BI decision making. First high-level attempt to the “to be” for the BI & Reporting delivery organization and getting the right delivery processes in place.

●    After 1 year: Leading in terms of agreeds upon global BI & Reporting application delivery.




  • You have min. 3 years of experience as an IT Governance Manager. Preferably in a complex, global context. You have a proven track record in designing and implementing IT governance framework, including setting  the objectives for IT, governance principles, policies, IT governance roles and responsibilities, and processes.  
  • You have (pragmatic)  working knowledge with frameworks and methodologies such as ITIL and COBIT.
  • You can act as a strategic leader to embed ICT quality (i.e., metrics and continuous improvement into the culture of the organization. You have a proven track record in compliance,  ensuring that IT continually meets any regulatory, statutory, and legal obligations, supports the organization’s objectives while working within the defined ethical and cultural framework, and follows the IT governance framework.
  • You can provide cross-functional leadership for setting and exceeding quality standards.  
  • You have Enterprise IT Governance including knowledge of IT risk management and controls.  You can decide on appropriate actions required to adapt security and address risk exposure. 
  • English –  Good knowledge of Dutch, Spanish or Portuguese  are an asset.
