Lecot (HQ: Heule) is a family-owned company from Kortrijk and a national leader in the distribution of hardware, fasteners, building hardware, tools, and personal protective equipment. The organization has been around for over 130 years, tracing its origins back to 1888 with Charles Lecot, who traveled from village to village as a scissors sharpener and boiler patcher. Over time, the mobile shop evolved into a fixed hardware store, with Lecot gradually shifting the offering more towards construction.

Since 1996, Lecot has been expanding geographically in Flanders and Wallonia. In 2008, Lecot merged with Raedschelders, another total supplier for construction and industry from Maaseik. This merger made them the leading player in their industry in the country. Today, the organization has 75 stores and over 800 employees, generating a turnover of 220 million euros.

Lecot aims to be the preferred partner for anyone active in the construction industry. They want to replicate the Belgian success story in the Netherlands and focus on expanding the number of sales points in the Netherlands (with a focus on provinces bordering Belgium). The organization also heavily invests in an omnichannel strategy. While local presence is a significant advantage in this niche market, the trends in digitization make 24/7 online presence necessary. Additionally, Lecot employs around 100 representatives with strong expertise and technical knowledge, whom customers can rely on.

Another important aspect of Lecot's vision is to operate more lean & mean, focusing strongly on reducing costs to positively impact profit.
