Digital Project Lead / Business Partner @ Kortrijk Xpo



The purpose of this position is to empower the digital transformation of Kortrijk Xpo. The Digital Project Lead / Business Partner has a strong added value in implementing the digital roadmap and works closely with the IT & Digital Innovation Manager, the internal stakeholders and subject matter experts, the IT team and various external partners. The Digital Project Lead / Business Partner is responsible for the A-Z follow-up of all digital transformation projects, as well as the general follow-up of the project portfolio. In the role of Digital Project Lead, you are responsible for monitoring project scope, planning and budget. In the role of Digital Business Partner, you are the connecting partner between internal stakeholders, the IT team and external partners.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • You are ultimately responsible for the meticulous follow-up and delivery of digital transformation projects. You determine the phases of the projects and implement them (planning, validation, …). You are responsible for monitoring project scope, planning and budget.
  • You monitor the general digital project portfolio and report on progress to the IT & Digital Innovation Manager.
  • You are responsible for the analysis of the needs of the users. "Users" can be internal employees as well as customers/exhibitors/visitors. On occasion, you are responsible for organizing sessions in which exhibitors are invited to provide input about their requirements. You work closely with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • You are responsible for formalizing functional requirements (based on needs analysis) and communicating these to your internal IT colleagues and/or to the external partner (incl. specifications, planning, costs).
  • In consultation with subject matter experts on the one hand and the IT team on the other, you ensure that the right IT components are selected that on the one hand meet the needs in the short term (business need / project) and on the other hand fit within the broader digital whole (IT / digital roadmap). You ensure that these IT competences are correctly implemented by the IT team and external partners.
  • You present the developed (digital) products to the business, you develop the necessary documentation and educate the users about the delivered applications.
  • You are the connecting factor between internal stakeholders, IT staff and external partners and you are the single point of contact (SPOC) regarding the progress of digital transformation projects, the broad project portfolio and new digital ideas. In concrete terms: when a fair is organized, you help the internal stakeholders to implement their digital ideas, e.g. by taking on an advising role within the project team, translating the business needs into IT and closely following up the roll-out of the specific project.


Background and experience

  • You are an initiator with a strong affinity for technology and digitization. You radiate enthusiasm and you work accurately and punctually. You are stress-resistant and solve problems before they arise. You can effortlessly conjure fresh ideas out of your top hat.
  • You have several years of experience as a project manager, preferably in a context related to marketing, digital, online or web.
  • You obtained a bachelor's or master's degree in IT, (N)MCT, communication, marketing, economics or equivalent through experience.
  • You are eager to learn and passionately follow the latest developments on the web and in digital. You are happy to share this knowledge with your colleagues.
  • Where possible, you provide added value and make a difference. You show great commitment.
  • You have an analytical nature and you quickly feel in which direction the various exchanges want to evolve.
  • You work flexibly and stress-resistant. You think in a solution-oriented way, you work in a structured way and you can set priorities well.
