Function
As Data Engineer for Sarens Group, you are co-responsible for 3 specific domains to support the business analysis team and the various stakeholders:
- Data warehouse
- Microsoft Azure
- Further migration to Power BI (currently still the combination of Power BI and Qlikview)
He/she will have the opportunity to shape an interesting and progressive data systems infrastructure at Sarens.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Data warehouse (70%)
- You will be responsible for building out and managing the Microsoft technology-based data warehouse to support today's reporting requirements. You design and implement the data warehouse containing data from the various ERP (D365, SAP, AX2009, Navision) and other systems;
- You are responsible for data modelling and data architecture;
- You set up relevant data flows and are responsible for maintenance. You work closely with your BI colleague so that these are set up as efficiently as possible;
- You are responsible for the creation and maintenance of all interfaces;
- You monitor data quality and data conversion;
- You manage and optimise the data platforms;
- You translate and implement complex data issues into concrete solutions;
- You document solutions, configure and programme changes.
Microsoft Azure (30%)
- You support the business by delivering stable, secure and up-to-date technologies hosted in Microsoft Azure;
- You manage, build and optimise modern data architectures based on the Microsoft Azure Platform (Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, FTP, Integrations…) and ensure that all required security is in place;
- You monitor costs and implement savings where necessary.
Profile
- You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or similar.
- You have 1-3 years of experience with SQL servers, Microsoft BI and/or Azure;
- You have experience developing and implementing ETL solutions on Premises and/or cloud such as IBM DataStage, Microsoft SSIS, Azure Synapse, Databricks;
- You have knowledge of Azure Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Factory and Azure, Synapse Analytics;
- You have a good understanding of data modelling, data architecture and integration;
- You have in-depth knowledge of SQL/T, SQL scripts, JSON;
- Experience with data visualisation in Power BI is a plus, as well as database knowledge of SAP, AX2009, Navision and D365 and knowledge of EAI;
- You are very strong with data: knowledge of databases (MS SQL Server) is required;
- You are an independent thinker and worker who can work on multiple projects simultaneously.
