We are looking for a Business Analyst for the Accounting Services Center. In this role you will play an essential role in the further development of OraFin, their financial system. You will proactively look for opportunities to realize efficiency improvements and automation, and provide support to our clients where needed.

One of your key responsibilities will be to effectively identify customer needs and clearly translate them to the developers

In addition to understanding and translating customer needs, you will also be involved in supporting the development of new reports and customization of existing reports. You will ensure that the necessary documentation is created and updated, providing the development team with the right information to implement effective solutions.

Profile

  • Preferably a degree in Economics, Commercial or Financial Sciences, Commercial Engineering, Computer Science or Applied Computer Science, but other relevant Master's degrees will also be considered (e.g. Master's degree in Mathematics with experience in the field).
  • Experience in a similar position and a relevant industry.
  • Experience in business analysis.
  • Experience in setting up and monitoring information systems, data management and conversion, and designing/assessing data models.
  • Experience with project and planned development of business applications.
  • Experience performing a bridge function between the vendor and the business.
  • Experience in financial or accounting analysis.
  • Experience with OAS (Oracle Analytics Server) or Oracle Financials, or other BI tools.

The main task of the Finance and Budget Department is to support the Minister responsible for Finance and Budget and the Flemish Government in the preparation of financial, budgetary and fiscal policy, as well as in directing policy implementation. They strive for diligence, legality, substantiation, proactivity and integrity in their work.

Some key responsibilities of the department include:

  • General policy support: They provide financial, budgetary and fiscal support and advice to the minister and the Flemish government.
  • Budget preparation and monitoring: They prepare and monitor the multi-year budget and annual budget through budget agreements. They ensure that relevant data on budget execution and accounting are reliable, correct, complete and timely.
  • Cash and debt management: They manage the cash position of the Flemish government, including long-term debt and guarantees granted by the Flemish government.
  • Accounts and annual accounts: They prepare the general account of the legal entity Flemish Community, audit and/or prepare annual accounts for Flemish legal entities, and deal with comments from the Court of Audit.

The Finance and Budget Department plays a crucial role in ensuring sound financial management and providing the Flemish government with reliable policy information.
